Description
The LR44 is the absolute standard among button cells for analogue cameras. It fits countless models from Nikon, Minolta, Olympus, Pentax and many more. Usually, two stacked cells are needed to provide the 3V operating voltage for the light meter or the electronic shutter.
Honest technical classification:
These are alkaline batteries. They are the inexpensive and widely used standard solution. Unlike silver oxide cells (SR44), which keep their voltage very constant until the end, the voltage of alkaline cells slowly drops over their lifespan. For most cameras (like the Minolta X-series or Nikon FE) this is no problem, as the bridge circuits compensate for it. However, if you seek maximum precision over years, go for SR44. For everyday use and as a cheap replacement, these LR44 are perfect.
Note on old mercury cells (PX675):
These batteries have the same dimensions as the old, banned PX675 mercury cells, but a higher voltage (1.5V instead of 1.35V). If your camera strictly requires 1.35V, the LR44 will cause incorrect readings. In this case, we recommend zinc-air hearing aid batteries (type 675).
